The cemetery has been an inspiration to so many people during the pandemic – being near to trees and nature has been a life-saver for many.

Paths through the grass are worn from usage!

The Friends have been very active – including gardening on a regular basis. We also planted 10 new trees as part of a replacement plan for those coming to the end of their life. We have carried out surveys on ladybirds, the peregrines on the nearby hospital – and a monthly bird count. We completed the project of restoring the Blake memorial with a National Heritage grant and there is a new interpretation board to cover its history. There is also a new interpretation sign near the main round bed to help identify trees and birds etc. Sadly we seem to have lost our blackbirds – it happened in the bad heatwave.

We had our first virtual AGM earlier this month!
