Friends of Margravine

The Friends support the cemetery in many ways. Practical things like tree planting and care, gardening, kids club, walks and talks and meetings are obvious, but there are many more ‘behind the scenes’ things too. For example, we have doubled the number of listed monuments from 3 to 6 in recent years. We record the plants and wildlife and have investigated its Victorian history. We even have a poet in residence. There is a great deal of collaborating with those who administrate. We are the cemetery’s eyes and ears on a daily basis – to keep it a safe and beautiful place

Membership

Many members take an active part in any way that suits – or just show support by joining and receiving news. Some join because they have a special link or have family members buried here. New members bring new interests and skills but help is always welcome – be it tree planting, gardening, meetings, website, newsletter, kids club, research, copywriting, social events, photography, fund raising, building renovation, biological surveys, London in Bloom – the list could go on!

A current mission includes getting two of our listed buildings renovated.
