Early this year 12 new trees were planted – a mixture of natives and non-natives. Some we chose with climate change in mind.
The central round bed has been planted much to everyone’s relief. It has 400 plants, chosen as good for pollinators. There will be a lot of watering necessary to get the plants established!
Kid’s club posts seasonal i-spy sheets on the gates for parents of young children to capture on their phones.
We planted a small holly during our informal picnic to celebrate the jubilee.
We will take part in ‘London in Bloom’ though our gardening input is really about looking after the newly planted trees and the central round bed.
We are planning a summer flower walk, a tree walk in the autumn and also a history walk.
